Nice purple-red dissectum with slightly less ''cut leaf'' character than Crimson Queen or Ever Red.

Spring growth is a deep crimson red changing quickly to a very dark purple red. Holds its color well in Summer and has bright scarlet Fall color.

A very old cultivar, with known listings going back to 1710 in Japan. Plants from 50 to 100 years old have reached 12 feet tall! Trees are currently 30-36" tall.
