A very attractive tree in the ''Katsura'' group. Has colorful orange-yellow spring growth with a dark pink edge. Similar to ''Katsura'' in most respects (leaf shape, size, color, growth habit and vigor) except that Mizuho beni has more noticeable serration on leaf edges.

Importantly, Mizuho beni comes into leaf a good 2 weeks LATER than Katsura, so is less prone to damage by late spring frosts and cold winds. Trees are 40-48" tall currently.
